When a female acquaintence passes away, Ellen (Houghton) inherits her gardener - a mysterious and enigmatic young man named Carl (Dallesandro). In addition to being the subject of admiration by Ellen's lady friends, Carl has an amazing talent with all things green. Soon Ellen's garden is the envy of all who visit - rare, exotic blooms thrive in almost magical abundance. But this prosperity comes at a price. First, Ellen's faithful former landscaper collapses from a sudden, debilitating stroke. Then Ellen's cook develops an irrational fear of Carl and his plants, banishing his blooms from the house. Ellen herself begins to experience unexplained, trance-like spells, during which she feels a strong presence drawing her away. What exactly is going on here? By the time Ellen and her best friend Helena (Gam) make a shocking discovery about Carl, it's too late - the Seeds Of Evil have already taken hold!
