One of the darkest, most depressing slasher films. Ever. I guess that's why I like it so much. I give up on ever seeing a pristine copy of this, but in actuality, I think the grain and slight grey-scale, accompanied by those sepia toned flashbacks really make the film what it is.
Pre-dates BC with the disturbing phone calls. I love this film. It's the kind of film one watches the day AFTER Christmas, as to me, it delivers the down feeling one feels the day after Christmas. Gershuny gave some good directing and the casting person gave us some great actors. A really harsh axe murder and some creepy ambiance and guess whos. One good slasher flick.
