Music television network fuse and FANGORIA Entertainment have announced that the first-ever televised FUSE FANGORIA CHAINSAW AWARDS will be held Sunday, October 15 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. This premiere award show spotlighting the best in horror-themed cinema, music and television will premiere on fuse Sunday, October 22 at 9:30 p.m. The editors of FANGORIA and Fangoria.com joined forces with the music experts at fuse to develop a host of categories and nominees, from the straightforward to the sublimely offbeat.
The leader in film category nominations is HOSTEL with six, followed by SNAKES ON A PLANE, UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION and THE HILLS HAVE EYES (pictured) with five nods each, while FINAL DESTINATION 3, THE DESCENT, SILENT HILL, THE DEVIL’S REJECTS, SLiTHER and KING KONG each earned four nominations. Performers nominated in the music categories include Gnarls Barkley, AFI, 30 Seconds to Mars, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Evanescence and Red Hot Chili Peppers. fuse viewers and horror fans alike will have the chance to help determine the winners by voting at www.fuse.tv between September 1 and, naturally, Friday, October 13.
This year’s frightfest, the first ever televised, will feature a “black carpet” pre-show with a critique of the fashions of the arriving star nominees and presenters, live performances by some of the biggest names in pop, rock and hip-hop, as well as a “Gala of Gore” post-show, an after-party attended by music and film A-listers. Cyber-savvy music and fright fans can follow the action and get many extras by heading to Fuse.tv and Fangoria.com before, during and after the telecast. Additional announcements including hosts, performers and presenters will be forthcoming.
